Join us in Brussels during EU Green Week 2026
Nexuswelt, together with Balkan Consult Group, is pleased to announce the upcoming EU Green Week 2026 Partner Event: From Nature-Based Ideas to EU Projects & Investment. The event will take place on 8 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium, as an in-person stakeholder networking event for organisations interested in nature-based solutions, green transition, cooperation, future EU project development and investment pathways.
EU Green Week 2026 puts the spotlight on investing in a nature-positive economy and the business case for nature. According to the official EU Green Week Partner Events information, partner events across Europe will explore how investing in nature can be rewarding for people and business. The 2026 partner event guidelines also underline that partner events should raise awareness of nature’s potential to support a more competitive, sustainable and resilient future.
Why nature-based solutions need project pathways
Across Europe, many strong environmental ideas already exist. They can support greener cities, climate resilience, biodiversity, sustainable land use, circular approaches and regional development. However, strong ideas often need the right partners, clearer implementation pathways and access to practical project or investment structures.
The European Commission describes nature-based solutions as solutions inspired and supported by nature that can provide environmental, social and economic benefits while helping build resilience. This makes nature-based solutions especially relevant for organisations working on sustainability, climate adaptation, biodiversity, urban transformation, green infrastructure and local development.
Nature-based solutions are also connected to EU research and innovation. The European Research Executive Agency highlights that Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 projects support nature-based solutions to address climate change, biodiversity loss, health and job creation. CINEA also provides examples of how LIFE projects work with nature for people, while Climate-ADAPT shows the relevance of nature-based solutions for climate adaptation and resilience.
What this EU Green Week Partner Event will focus on
From Nature-Based Ideas to EU Projects & Investment is designed as a practical Brussels networking event. The focus is simple: how can nature-based ideas move from concept to cooperation, from cooperation to future project pipelines, and from project pipelines to implementation and investment opportunities?
- turning nature-based ideas into practical cooperation and project concepts
- connecting SMEs, public actors, consultants, project developers and regional stakeholders
- exploring future EU project opportunities around sustainability and green transition
- discussing regional perspectives from Brussels, Southeast Europe, Cyprus, Ukraine and wider European networks
- identifying follow-up pathways for partnerships, funding opportunities and investment discussions
The session will include networking, opening remarks, a short framing discussion, stakeholder exchange, regional cooperation perspectives and an open discussion on possible next steps. The full agenda will be shared soon.
Who should attend?
This event is relevant for organisations interested in sustainability, nature-positive economy, EU cooperation, green innovation, regional development and future project partnerships. It is especially relevant for:
- SMEs and start-ups working on sustainability, green innovation or nature-based solutions
- project developers and innovation intermediaries looking for cooperation partners
- public actors, regional development organisations and business support organisations
- consultants, investors and corporate actors interested in implementation and investment pathways
- research, policy and ecosystem stakeholders active in green transition and EU cooperation
A strategic Brussels networking moment before European Sustainable Energy Week
The timing is also relevant for Brussels-based sustainability and energy stakeholders. The event takes place on 8 June 2026, just before European Sustainable Energy Week 2026, which will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026 in Brussels and online. CINEA notes that EUSEW 2026 is organised under the theme A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union and will bring together a broad audience around clean energy, competitiveness and sustainability.
For organisations already planning to be in Brussels for EU Green Week, EUSEW or related sustainability discussions, this partner event offers an additional opportunity to meet potential partners, exchange concrete ideas and explore future EU project cooperation around nature-based solutions and investment pathways.
