The European Research & Innovation Days (RiDaysEU) in Brussels once again brought together Europe’s brightest minds, key policymakers, and leading industry stakeholders to shape the future of European science, research, and innovation. For two days, discussions, exhibitions, and panels underlined one key theme: if Europe wants to remain competitive in a rapidly changing global landscape, it must scale up innovation, invest boldly, and foster cross-border collaboration.

At Nexuswelt Group, participating in this event was both inspiring and strategically important. With our strong expertise in EU-funded projects, dissemination, communication, and project management, RiDaysEU gave us the opportunity to showcase our work, connect with international partners, and highlight our next chapter: the official launch of Nexuswelt Ukraine – EU Funding & Innovation Hub.

Highlights of RiDaysEU 2025

The European Commission set a clear vision for the future of research and innovation, focusing on competitiveness, sustainability, and global leadership. Among the most important topics and strategies discussed were:

• AI in Science and Industry: Europe’s ambition to become a global leader in trustworthy, energy-efficient, and human-centric AI applications was strongly emphasized. This includes strategies to integrate AI into manufacturing, health, and mobility.

• Semiconductors & Chips Act: Scaling up Europe’s semiconductor capabilities remains a top priority. The Chips Joint Undertaking showcased projects like AIMS5.0 and HiEFFICIENT, both driving innovation in AI, wide bandgap semiconductors, and sustainable electronics.

• DeepTech and Dual-Use Innovation: From quantum computing to biotech, the focus was on accelerating technologies that have both civil and security applications. The EU aims to boost investment in areas that secure strategic autonomy.

• Startup and Scale-up Strategy: New initiatives were discussed to better support European founders, ensuring easier access to funding, reducing bureaucracy, and creating stronger links between research and market.

• European Research Area Act: With the call to achieve 3% of GDP in R&D investment, speakers highlighted the urgency of reforms that strengthen Europe’s scientific excellence and industrial capacity.

The event also highlighted Europe’s commitment to international collaboration. Special sessions focused on partnerships with Ukraine, enlargement countries, and global partners — reinforcing the message that innovation knows no borders.

Nexuswelt at RiDaysEU – AIMS5.0 in the Spotlight

Our founder, Anna Lackner, joined the Infineon team at the exhibition booth, which quickly became a hotspot for interviews, project presentations, and in-depth discussions. Visitors showed strong interest in how AIMS5.0 is developing robust, safe, and energy-efficient AI solutions for European manufacturing — a topic perfectly aligned with the EU’s vision for a competitive and sustainable future.

The recognition by Chips JU, choosing AIMS5.0 to be exhibited among flagship projects, reflects the importance of this initiative and validates the impact our consortium is delivering.

Expanding Horizons: Connecting with Ukraine

RiDaysEU also created valuable opportunities for dialogue with Ukrainian stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine. These meetings highlighted the growing importance of Ukraine’s integration into the European research and innovation ecosystem.

Ukraine is not only a partner but also an essential contributor to Europe’s scientific and technological future. From resilient startups to innovative universities, Ukrainian actors are eager to collaborate, share knowledge, and build bridges with European consortia.

Recognizing this momentum, Nexuswelt Group is proud to announce the launch of Nexuswelt Ukraine – EU Funding & Innovation Hub. From our main headquarters in Munich, we are expanding to Kyiv, creating a new platform for Ukrainian innovators, SMEs, and research organizations to connect with European partners.

Our mission with Nexuswelt Ukraine is clear:
• Provide strategic support for Ukrainian participation in EU projects.
• Strengthen visibility and communication for Ukrainian research and innovation.
• Build bridges for collaboration between Ukraine, Germany, Cyprus, and the broader EU.

Looking Ahead – Nexuswelt’s Role in Europe’s Innovation Journey

The European Research & Innovation Days left one strong impression: Europe is at a turning point. Ambitious policies, bold investments, and inclusive partnerships will decide how competitive and resilient Europe will be in the next decade.

At Nexuswelt Group, we are ready to contribute. With offices in Munich, Limassol, and Kyiv, we combine international consultancy, digital marketing, and EU project expertise to ensure that research results are not only developed but also communicated, disseminated, and adopted.

We believe that the future of innovation lies in collaboration, transparency, and visibility — values that are at the core of everything we do. The launch of Nexuswelt Ukraine marks the next step in our journey to connect ecosystems, support innovators, and transform ideas into impact.
